Winner of the 2008 Automation Awards is the OCTOPUS PoE switch from Hirschmann – World’s first IP67 switch with built-in Power over Ethernet support.

Initiated by the trade journal elektro AUTOMATION in 1998 the Automation Award has developed to the “Oscar of automation”. Annually during SPS/IPC/DRIVES 10 TOP products selected by a competent and independent jury are put to the vote of all fair visitors. The OCTOPUS beat all competition with 20.9 % of votes.
