Hirschmann has made some new additions to its SPIDER product family. These include switches with a twisted-pair and an optical port as well as versions with three twisted-pair ports. In addition, the established five and eight-port switches as well as the new two-port versions will be available with an extended temperature range of -40 to +70° Celsius (optional).
This means that the SPIDER product family contains 13 entry-level switches with which data networks can be created in star or line topology at a low price, even across long distances and in difficult ambient conditions.
The SPIDER switches meet all relevant industrial standards, have passed the type approval in accordance with the European Car Directive 2005/83/EC (E1) and support 10/100 BASE TX and FX as well as autonegotiation and autocrossing. The optical ports are available for SC or ST connector and are designed for single and multimode transmission.
The switches can be mounted on DIN rails and quickly commissioned in accordance with the plug-and-play principle. Thanks to their compact housing, measuring a mere 25 or 40 x 100 x 78 millimeters (width x height x depth), they can also be easily inserted into junction boxes. Information about device and network status is given on the front plate in the form of LED displays.
